Tommy's Story

Tommy began at Bona Vista when he was 2 years old. Tommy was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Over the past 2 years he has worked with occupational and speech therapists and his preschool teachers at Bona Vista. He has been in ABA therapy for the past year.

Tommy's mother says sending Tommy to Bona Vista has helped tremendously. She also shared this story:

"Bona Vista's services were the best gift we could ever give to him. We always knew he was 'in there,' we just didn't know how to get him out. With gentle persistence from his therapists Tommy is starting to emerge from that lonely place he was in. We used to feel lucky to hear him say a few single words in a week. Now he can say his shapes, colors, letters, count to 30, name his family members (including the dog), sing songs, sometimes answer questions, and the list goes on and on. He is also a whiz on the computer.

Without Jennifer, Beth, Nicole & his other therapists, we wouldn't know the possibilities Tommy could be capable of. Tommy is truly loved at Bona Vista. I recommend Bona Vista to meet your child's needs."
